OK, I'll just say it. I love animals!
My husband and I have welcomed several Golden Retrievers into our home over the course of our marriage and each one has, in its own way, given us great joy and happiness. Our pets are family and I can honestly say that we will never be without a dog in our lives!
Over the years, I have become involved with a couple of pet-centered organizations that are close to my heart:
This nonprofit in Minneapolis, MN, rescues abandoned, neglected, and abused Golden Retrievers, provides medical care for them, and finds loving fur-ever homes for each of these gentle souls.
Over the past several years, I have been fortunate to be a foster mom to several goldens who needed a little love while they waited for new families.
This local organization, a nonprofit pet rescue in Hudson, WI, helps to re-home dogs and cats and assists with providing pet food to low-income families, low-cost spay/neuters, and provides several other services.
I am currently the editor for the SCAF newsletter, Paws for Thought.
